Open Air Forest Festival
(9-11. August, 2013 – Mikonlampi, Rautalampi, Finland)
Lawatanssit 2013 is a weekend-long open air forest festival, held from Aug 9th to 11th 2013 in central Finland. The festival combines multiple aspects of sub-cultural music and audiovisual arts from the Finnish underground music scene as well as a fine selection of electronic music artists from abroad.
For this summers' event, we are proud to announce a whole new festival location which is situated approximately 300 km drive by car from Helsinki. The festival area is built next to Mikonlampi lake, in the county of Rautalampi, in Pohjois-Savo province.
With four different stages, Lawatanssit 2013 offers an incomparable selection of different types of alternative modern music, including rock/folk music, hip-hop & rap and of course the finest selection of booty shakin’ psytrance beats - not just from Finland, but from international circles as well.
There are four stages at the festival, which will be providing music for every hour of the weekend: Wider Stage (electronic/trance music), Futuristics Stage (electronica, techno & chill-out), Nawetta stage (live bands, chill-out) and Syvä stage (rap/hip-hop).
Mikonlampi is an idyllic, forest-surrounded spot, which offers the festival-goers a possibility to take a swim in a small lake situated within the festival area. There’s also a chance to get a bit more of that party sweat pouring by having enjoying a few rounds in either one of the two traditional Finnish festival saunas that are situated right next to the lake. The bazaar area offers different types of food selections, handmade souvenirs, records and other memorabilia from your favorite labels and artists and more.
Sub-culture Foundation Syvä ry has been organizing various festivals and clubs and the concept of this year’s Lawatanssit festival is the fruit of organizing annual weekend festivals since 2007. Syvä ry creates the festival in collaboration with Futuristics and Wider Visions – these two Finnish organizations have been creating wicked, top-notch festivals, clubs, parties and live shows for years. Audio reinforcement will be handled this year by Tulipäät Oy, a cutting-edge live audio & lighting reinforcement squad.
Somewhere in Finland without a car or any clue on how to get to the festival? Don’t worry! We will be organizing round-trip festival bus rides from major Finnish cities to the festival and back. We will begin selling tickets to the official festival buses online through our website, starting around early June. The bus rides take off on Friday afternoon/early evening from various Finnish cities and the return trip takes place on Sunday afternoon/evening. Take a ride on the wild side and hop on board! This is the party that you’ve heard those trees whispering in the woods about ...
