Roi Tilbor aka DJ ROCKY, began his musical career at age 13, performing in clubs in his home town Ramat Hasharon. In the early years he played free style music and gained residency at the mythologist CHECHE club, becoming increasingly popular and receiving invitations to perform throughout the country.
In 1999, after almost 10 years in the night life scene, rocky has decided to take a break and traveled to the Far East. For three years he toured the region, collected material and became enamored of electronic music and started to create his own music.
Soon, he found himself performing at parties in the Far East.
Upon returning from his wandering abroad, he began playing electronic music in Israel, mostly in nature parties and soon he joined the CHEMICAL CREW label.
As a regarded label member, ROCKY performed with other label members in clubs and festivals all over the world.
ROCKY's main inspiration is derived from the RUN DMC ensemble, whose influence is manifested in the maximum mixes in minimum time of his sets.
His music is based on rare rhythm in the electronic music, such as punk, groove and disco, which is considered to be slow comparison to the other sub genre in electronic music.
In 2005 ROCKY released his first compilation PSYCHEDELIC HIGH in a double album contains a disc he himself mixed and a roster of artists including SKAZI, VOID, TICON, SON KITE, DINO and more..
At this days ROCKY is working on the second PSYCHEDELIC HIGH compilation and on his first personal artist album that will be released by the end of 2006. |
