BPM - Bionic Pulse Method

 ( Agitato ,  Apr. 2002 )

1. Atomic Pulse- Elements 2. Lemurians- Oscisonie 3. Wizzy Noise- Painful Memory 4. BLT- Cruise Control 5. Insect Sun- F.O.A.D 6. Gataka- Moon Child 7. Sesto Sento- From Led to Gold 8. Perplex- BBC 2002

Matan from Sesto Sento compiled a nice CD in the Agitato new tradition of giving new upcoming artists the opportunity to show what they like. Like Sesto Sento's own music, this touches a range of musical styles from full on to tech-trance, and manages to stay interesting and fun. It opens with Atomic Pulse with a moving crunchy full on piece, massive anthemic break included. Lemurians continue with more alien feel with good drive and catchy groove, again with nice subtle morningish feel. Excellent track to dance to in the morning. Wizzy Noise change direction a bit, crashing kick-bass-hi-hat combination, but totally floating jazzy sequences, and weird melodic lines. Nice track and a good welcome for the excellent Cruise Control from BLT (T4), a groovy jazzy track in total cruising mood- tequila in the sun! Insect Sun changes moods completely into darker realms- his usual sharp powerful sound, and a catchy groove surrounded in flying psychodark sounds. Gataka follows with Moon Child (T6), a dark minimal track with nice sounds and interesting moves, but something is missing here. Sesto Sento continue more in your face, with a real squeaky whistling scratching tune with an irresistible moving force, and an array of fresh sounds that really catch my mind- you gotta listen to understand. Perplex ends it all in an airy melodic light atmosphere, with a sample that will bring memories to those who remember the early 90's (anyone else but me?).

Recomendation:  Another good CD in Agitato's revival moves. Fun, moving and diverse. Good stuff.
